The Rally Fund is providing $1000 awards for 10 people to launch projects that positively impact others during the coronavirus outbreak. We’ll also connect recipients with tech, marketing, and strategy advisors who can help them get their ideas off the ground.

1. What kind of ideas will you fund?

We’re looking for ideas that will help people during this crisis. The most applicable ones can scale quickly to impact a large number of people. For example, you can:

  • Create a weekly social impact video club that allows people to watch and then discuss inspiring and educational content.
  • Build a calendar of all the remote activities people can do to connect with others in a time of social distancing.
  • Design a quiz to help connect people with the best remote volunteer opportunities, based on their needs.
  • Record the life stories of elderly people in nursing homes to help them while they’re in isolation

Ultimately, share what you are most passionate about, and we’ll see how we can help.

2. Besides the money, how else can you help me with my idea?

Once you have been selected, we will be a resource to help you develop and execute your idea. We’ll also connect you with advisors in marketing, tech, strategy, social media, project management, and more.

3. Will I have to pay the money back?

Nope. This money is all yours, though we expect that you will use it to launch your project (and not to fund a beach vacation once we are no longer doing social distancing.) To help ensure that, we’ll be following up for details on what you’ve done and how the money has been spent.

4. Where does the money come from?

We’ve seeded this project ourselves with the first $10,000 to fund the first batch of awards. If you’re interested in helping it expand, please email us at hello@therallyfund.com.

5. Can I contribute to the fund?

6. Can I work with other people?

Absolutely! Get your friends, family members, or entire community involved! That being said, each idea, not each person, will be eligible to receive $1000.

7. How do I know if I’m eligible?

This is a national campaign. All people of all ages in the United States are eligible and are encouraged to apply.

8. I don’t have an idea but want to get involved. Can I help?

Yes yes yes! Email us at hello@therallyfund.com and tell us a little more about you and how you’d like to contribute. We’ll figure out the best way for you to make an impact!

9. Are there other programs like this out there?

The closest one we’ve found is the The Awesome Foundation, which has many different chapters that each provide a $1000 monthly grant. If you know of others, let us know, and we’ll add them here.
